Heart Health for Women

In the US, heart disease is the leading cause of death in women. Despite being characterized as a male issue, heart disease affects females equally.

While genetic factors play a role,
lifestyle factors are equally important.

Here are some key areas to address, according to the American Heart Association:
  • Smoking: Smoking alone increases the risk of heart disease--even moreso when combined with other factors. Risks include: increased blood pressure and tendency to clot, and decreased exercise tolerance and HDL (good) cholesterol.
  • Diet: Diet is a crucial component in health. Organic, non-GMO food is best. Avoid processed foods and sugar, and limit red meat.
  • Monitor Blood Pressure/Cholesterol: Blood pressure measurements should be 120/80. High blood pressure can lead to stroke, which can be permanently disabling. Similarly, high cholesterol is a ticking time bomb that can also lead to a stroke.
  • Physical Activity: The American Heart Association states that the ideal duration of exercise for cardiovascular health is 30 minutes, 5 days per week (at a moderate intensity level). For fewer days per week, you could opt for 25 minutes, 3 days per week at a vigorous intensity level. However, with either of these, at least 2 days per week should also be devoted to moderate/high intensity muscle strengthening activity.
  • Weight: A healthy lifestyle necessitates a healthy weight. Life Choice products to help in this area include Thyroxycut and Active Woman.
  • Diabetes Management: A healthy lifestyle can go a long way in preventing diabetes. However, if you already have diabetes, management is vital.
  • Stress Reduction: While this may be easier said than done, this is an important factor, as stress brings about physiological effects on the body. One study found a linear progression between self-reported psychological stress and damage to the carotid artery. The extensive Whitehall Study in the UK among government employees found that those with the least control over their work had the highest rates of heart disease.
  • Alcohol Avoidance: While alcohol in moderation is generally safe, in excess, it can lead to a number of issues, including health issues that can hinder cardiovascular health, such as obesity and high blood pressure.
In addition to these tips, consider Life Choice products for hormonal and cardiovascular balance, such as Progest Cream, Arginine, Taurine, and HgH Homeopathic. Arginine and Taurine are great for heart health. HgH works gently with the body to balance the entire endocrine system, and Progest Liposome Cream is the ideal alternative to balance female hormones.

Adding Extra Valentine's Spark

Adding Extra Valentine's Spark

Valentine's Day can be a complicated holiday. Commercialism and anticipation around the holiday run rampant, and the core message of togetherness can easily be lost.

We must each take responsibility for appreciating those we love every day of the year: nothing can replace that foundation. Still, for couples who are seeking some extra Valentine's Day spark, Doctor's Choice® can help.

Many men are intimidated by the side effects of the blue pill, but assume that any old "natural" formulation is safer. However, the offer of natural enhancement is not necessarily a guarantee. Many have flashy names and packaging offering big promises, only to leave their customers disappointed. Some male enhancement products are being spiked with prescription drug medication and have been flagged by Health Canada and the FDA, respectively. In both cases, despite the products being presented as natural, the products were actually drugs in disguise!

The natural approach to supplementation is very effective, but only if the company is trustworthy. Doctor's Choice® has a licensed male enhancement product, Fiery Male®. The licensed label claim states: “Used in herbal medicine to help enhance physical capacity/performance.” The components of this formula are designed not as a shortcut, but as a piece of the solution. Fiery Male® works from the inside out, balancing hormones levels and, over time, producing reliable, lasting results.

Despite being labeled as a male product, the ingredients in Fiery Male® are also effective for women. Royal Jelly is rich in all the B vitamins, especially pantothenic acid, which promotes fertility and healthy reproduction. Research has shown its importance in rejuvenating sex glands, increased sperm count and sexual function in both men and women. The herb Epimedium, or commonly known as Horny Goat Weed, has been used extensively for its pro-sexual effects; it is not so much regarded as a fertility nutrient, but as a sexual stimulant. Studies done with rats and goats revealed, the frequency of copulation increases significantly when the herb was consumed. Damiana stimulates muscular contractions of the intestinal tract and brings oxygen to the genital area.  It is an energy tonic, a remedy for sexual and hormonal problems, ''a sexuality tonic.''

At Doctor's Choice®, we never take shortcuts, and it shows in the therapeutic results of our products. All our raw materials are purchased based on the purest possible pharmaceutical grade, fermented amino acids, and USP quality, the same high quality pharmaceutical companies use and without the side effects.

Women's Health: Tackling Obesity and Hormonal Imbalance

Women's Health: Tackling Obesity and Hormonal Imbalance

Health is under attack on many fronts, which makes prevention even more important. According to Statistics Canada, in 2014, over 46% of adult females were obese. Abdominal obesity alone increases the risk of type II diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Between 2000 and 2008, the national economic costs of obesity increased by $735 million.

While "female hormonal imbalance" can indicate a plethora of issues, Mind Body Green points to 9 signs to be aware of:
  1. Persistent weight gain
  2. Belly fat and loss of muscle mass
  3. Low libido
  4. Fatigue
  5. Anxiety, irritability, and depression
  6. Insomnia and poor sleep patterns
  7. Sweating
  8. Digestion problems
  9. Cravings
As you can see, these two issues can be closely connected, resulting in many health issues later. Although health issues can be avoided by adopting a clean lifestyle (eating non-GMO food, using cosmetic products that are paraben free), these things alone may not be enough. This is why supplementation is crucial; the extra boost of nutrients for the body can mean the difference between average health and great health.

Active Woman represents a unique formulation of the most effective breakthrough ingredients known to the medical/nutritional world, all in one capsule. The formula creates a synergistic relationship between ingredients, which work together and enhance each other’s abilities to create energy and endurance. A proven fat burner, with the added ability to inhibit the production of new fat, Active Woman provides a powerful weapon to attack the flab, when combined with a program of reduced intake of dietary calories and increased physical activity.

Progest Liposome Cream is an excellent option to help balance the female hormones during the different phases of the cycles of life, from menstruation to menopause. To use this female balancing cream, massage it into your skin until it is noticeably absorbed. Progest Cream can be applied to any area of the skin, such as the chest, breasts, lower abdomen, inner thighs, wrists/inner arms, and neck. It is recommended that you periodically rotate the area of the body where the cream is applied. Some women notice results from using Progest Cream immediately, and for others it may take a few weeks. Progest Cream is absorbed into the skin and taken up by the fatty layer beneath; it is then transferred into the bloodstream, where it circulates to receptor sites throughout the body.

Maintain your good start to 2016 with a healthy weight and balanced hormones!
